Important Information
  • Acclimatization is not optional
Leh sits above 11,000 ft. Your body will complain if you act like a superhero on Day 1. Rest properly or deal with altitude sickness.
  • Carry valid ID proof at all times
Permits are required for places like Pangong and checkpoints are frequent.
  • Limited network connectivity
Only postpaid SIMs (Airtel/Jio/BSNL) work reliably in Leh. Expect weak or no signal in remote areas like Pangong.
  • Weather is unpredictable
Sunny mornings can turn into freezing evenings real fast. Layering is your survival strategy.
  • Cash is essential
ATMs are limited and often unreliable. Digital payments are… optimistic at best.
  • High-altitude travel precautions
Avoid alcohol and smoking in the first 48 hours. Stay hydrated and eat light.
  • Road conditions can be rough
Landslides, water crossings, and bumpy terrain are normal. This is Ladakh, not a highway ad.
  • Travel insurance is highly recommended
Because mountains don’t care about your itinerary.
