Rajasthan - A Tourist Paradise

Rajasthan is a vibrant state of incredible India- a land of colourful melange of massive forts, breath taking beauty of palaces, diverse culture, deserts, and mouth watering cuisines that serve as an eye tonic of exotica for travel enthusiasts. Rajasthan- as the name suggests “Raja-ka-sthan,” which means "land of kings” is a boon for keen onlookers. Be it the temples of Pushkar to the valleys of Aravalli hills where the temple of Mata Savitri is situated, Mount Abu is the only hill station situated in Rajasthan, Deeg - a historical city, Jain temple of Ranakpur, The Jodgarh Raoli wildlife in Rajsamand, Pink city of Jaipur is filled with countless monuments, Blue city of Jodhpur is dotted with forts and palaces, Udaipur- the city of lakes is often called the 'Vence of the East'. 


Jaisalmer shares the name of 'Golden City' because the golden rays of the sun casts an exuberant golden hue on it. Bikaner also is a gem stone in the crown of Rajasthan, Ajmer has its own religious significance, Chittorgarh is famous for tales of queen Padmavati, The Tiger reserve of Ranthambore, Keoladeo National Park, the breath taking marble pavilions of Alwar, not forgetting to mention Bhangarh - a very haunted place. Kumbhalgarh,Neemrana fort and the list is endless.

You can experience rope way adventure in Pushkar to visit the Savitri temple, Camel rides in sand dunes, visit the Ghats, world famous Brahma Temple, Rangji temple feeding crowds of monkeys on the way, savor the famous Maal puas in Pushkar.. In Ajmer worship "Moin-ud-din Chishty Dargah" where people come from all over the world. Paragliding and boat riding in Mount Abu. The sand dunes of Jaisalmer, the lakes of Udaipur. Shoppping of artifacts in Bapu Bazaar in Jaipur - the world famous Sanganeri bedsheets, deewan sets, bags and 'jutis' or mocharis. Elephant rides in Amer Fort. Jungle Tiger safaris in Ranthambore, Leopard safari in Ranakpur and Jawai. All these cities are well connected and provide autos, E- rickshaws, buses and cars on rental basis.


Cuisines -

As the name suggests "Rang -Rangilo Rajasthan "the food here is also very colourful and flavourful like Dal Baati Churma. Dal is a dish of spiced lentils, while Baati are balls of wheat flour cooked on wooden sticks in earthen chulha. Churma is coarsely ground wheat crushed and cooked with ghee and sugar. Laal Maas is another speciality of Rajasthan. It is meat cooked in pure ghee, mathania chillies and salt. The stories go like this that in ancient times Kings used to go out for hunting carries these ingredients with them, ghee salt and chillies. Wherever they had a good hunt their cooks used to cook there itself in the jungle and feed the King. For this reason, Laal Maas is also known as Junglee Maas. Other cuisine are Kair Sangri which is a dry vegetable. Rajasthan is a dry deserted place with little vegetation in desert areas. For this reason people keep these dry vegetables and soak them in hot water and put them into gravy. Makhaniya Lassi is another attraction. Kadi Kachori and Sohan Halwa of Ajmer is world famous. Gatta rice, Kabooli, Pyaaz(onion) ki Kachori, sweet Mawa Kachori of Jodhpur, chili fritters ( Mirchi Bada/Vada) are other attractions.


How to Reach-

Almost all the tourist places are well connected with road and railways. There are few cities which have airports like Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kishangarh, Jaisalmer ( only commercial flights takes off and lands when it is a tourist months (from 1st October to 31st March), Bikaner.


Best time to visit-

Best time to visit Rajasthan is winter season October to March. The scorching heat during May and June and in monsoon season will lead to heavy rainfalls and through this many roads may get broken. Some tourist attractions may be closed during the rainy season so there will be limited sightseeing places for tourist.
